Microsoft Windows 10 support ended on 14 October

Windows 10 support ended on 14 October. Since then, Microsoft no longer provides free security updates, bug fixes or technical help for Windows 10. Your computers will keep working, but they become more vulnerable over time. That is why it makes sense to act now.

What does the end of Windows 10 support mean?

Without updates, new security flaws stay open. Attackers target old systems that are no longer supported. Software vendors also stop supporting Windows 10 after a while. Programs may then show errors or stop starting altogether.

Do you run a business? Then more is at stake. You often work with customer data, accounting records and other sensitive information. An insecure computer is a real risk for your organisation.

What are your options?

You have roughly two choices.

  • Move to Windows 11. This is the recommended route. You get regular updates again, and a system that stays supported for the years ahead.
  • Buy Extended Security Updates (ESU). For a fee, Microsoft offers security updates for Windows 10 for a limited time. It is a temporary fix, not a lasting one.

You can read the official details on Microsoft's page about the end of support.

Can your computer run Windows 11?

Not every computer can run Windows 11. It has requirements for things like the processor and the security chip (TPM 2.0). Older devices sometimes don't meet them. In that case, replacing the device is wiser than forcing the system to keep going.

That is why we start with an overview. We look at which computers you have, which ones can run Windows 11 and which ones need replacing. We also check that your business software works properly after the move.

How we help you make the move

Moving to a new system doesn't have to disrupt your work. Together, we make a clear plan, with an order that suits your business. Then we carry out the upgrades or replacements. This way, you stay in control of costs and planning.

Do we already manage your IT? Then we simply include this in our work. Read more about what we do on our services page.
